Teens are a tough crowd. Especially when you’re trying to teach them to save money – not spend it.
Participants in the American Bankers Association’s 2015 Lights, Camera, Save! video contest tackled the challenge like pros. ABA will announce the top three winning videos via its YouTube Channel today at 2:00 p.m. EST, as part of America Saves Week®.
Lights, Camera, Save! is a video contest that call upon teens to educate themselves and their peers about the value of saving and using money wisely in a creative and engaging 90 second video. This is an excellent way for budding filmmakers to not only get national exposure for their work, but also to earn thousands of dollars towards their own personal savings goals.
Every fall, hundreds of banks from across the country host the preliminary round of the contest, calling for entries from all of their local teens. Each bank branch accepts the entries and selects a winner to compete on the national level.
Once the ABA has the local winners, an outside group of industry experts selects the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners. Contest winners will receive $5,000, $2,500 or $1,000, respectively, toward their savings goal. In addition, ABA will award a free registration on behalf of each winner to Jump$tart’s National Educator Conference this fall.
