TwoTips to Celebrate National Payroll Week 2015

Each year, National Payroll Week celebrates the hard work of America's 150 million wage earners and the payroll professionals who pay them. Together, through the payroll withholding system, American workers contribute, collect, report, and deposit approximately $2.08 trillion, or 68%, of the annual revenue of the U.S. Treasury. America Saves reminds you to use this easy payment system to save some of your paycheck.

National Payroll Week (NPW) takes place this year from September 7 – 11, 2015. Here are our top two tips for celebrating NPW2015:

  1. Sign up for direct deposit. Save yourself a trip to the bank! Talk to your employer or payroll professional about setting up direct deposit of your paycheck directly into your bank account. Bonus? Your employer can split your pay into multiple accounts, so don’t forget to deposit a portion of your pay directly into your savings account to make emergency savings contributions easy to set up and maintain.
  2. Take the America Saves pledge. Set a goal and make a plan – it’s that easy! Taking the pledge can be that first step toward making your savings goals a reality. Let America Saves keep you on track with helpful tips and reminders about your savings goals. We even offer free text messages – get those savings tips straight to your phone.
