America Saves 2015 Annual Report Now Available

We are pleased to share with you the America Saves 2015 Annual Report. What a difference a year makes! America Saves is 14 years old and growing in both expected and unexpected ways.

America Saves Annual Report coverThis year's report highlights our ability to reach individual savers through digital media channels; the research that informs us about saver attitudes, behavior, and products; and the campaign’s use of research, products, evaluation, events, and both traditional and electronic communication strategies to assist savers to do the hard work of saving, often with scarce financial resources.

Nicky Vasquez learned about Virginia Saves when she attended her first class with Bank On Virginia Beach. The instructor shared how important it was to have a written savings goal, and the entire class joined Virginia Saves as the first step toward financial fitness.

Challenging Herself to Save

It all started when Marchale Burton overheard Alabama cooperative extension colleague Isaac Chappelle, coordinator of Alabama Saves, explaining how saving just a little bit – even change – is all it takes to become a saver. “I thought about that,” Burton said, “and wanted to see if it would work.” So, she challenged herself to see how much change she could save.

The Gift of Homeownership

Quaneka Willis, a single mother of three children, was receiving rental assistance through the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee when she decided to take control of her finances. So, in September of 2013 she attended the Make Your Money Talk program and pledged as a Wisconsin Saver. In less than 12 months, she had maximized her savings and was beginning the process of purchasing her first home.
