ABA’s Lights, Camera, Save! Announces Winners
By Meghan French, Public Relations Manager, American Bankers Association
Did you know 52% of teens want to learn more about how to manage their money? (source: Capital One Survey) The winners of the American Bankers Association’s 2014 Lights, Camera, Save! Video Contest can teach them a thing or two. ABA is announcing the top three winning videos via its Teach Children To Save YouTube Channel on Wed., Feb. 26 as part of America Saves Week®.
Lights, Camera, Save! is a video contest that engages teens in educating themselves and their peers about the value of saving and using money wisely. This is an excellent way for budding filmmakers to not only get national exposure for their work, but also to earn money towards their own personal savings goals. Throughout the fall, banks from across the country host the preliminary round of the contest, calling for entries from all of their local teens. Each bank branch accepts the entries and selects a winner to compete on the national level.
Once the ABA has the local winners, an outside group of industry experts selects the Grand-Prize, 2nd Place and 3rd Place winners. Grand prize winners receive up to $5,000, plus up to $1,500 for their school. The contest entry period was Nov. 1 - Nov. 30, 2013.
