The #FridayFive: Keeping Holidays Scam-Free

We've just successfully survived one of the biggest shopping days of the season. Between data breaches and the regular spam we receive, consumers everywhere are being wary about their holiday spending. ICYMI, here are five tips for keeping your holiday scam-free:

1. Leslie reminded us this week that even the best bargain shopper needs to do their research! 

 

2. Dr. Barbara O'Neill guest-starred in this week's #CreditChat with Experian. Here she shares her top tips for keeping your identity safe and holiday frauds prevented. 

 

3. Just when you thought your email spam filter wasn't doing enough, Tarra "@MsMadamMoney" Jackson told us to keep an eye on our cell phones, too! And we learned a new techy word: #SMishing.

 

4. Did you shop this #CyberMonday? If so, I hope you kept your personal information close and your identity theft prevention reminders high. Ilyce Glink's tips for CyberMonday rings true for online shoppers throughout the season. Am I the only one still getting extended Cyber Monday deals? Didn't think so.

 

5. Quizzle shared a nifty infographic with great must-know information and tips for protecting yourself from identity theft.
